The International Issues Forum

IIF meets Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 P.M. to discuss and debate the topic of the week. We meet at Villa International and afterwards some members adjourn to a local tavern for food, drink, and conversation.

IIF has been meeting at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia since 1995, to discuss and debate ongoing international issues. We adjourn at the beginning of each year in order to participate in the nine-week Great Decisions program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, offered as part of Evening at Emory. In addition, we often host a number of international visitors throughout the year, in cooperation with the Georgia Council for International Visitors (GCIV).

In addition to our weekly forums, IIF's discussion reaches the internet via our blog and position papers. The blog is a space for casual remarks connected to each forum topic and it is open to everyone. The position papers and rebuttals published on our website are reserved for more extended commentary from regular forum members. These online resources will allow you to form an impression about our activities even if they are a poor substitute for lively debate.

Send us an e-mail and we will gladly add you to our e-mail list; the newsletter includes a primer on each weekly topic complete with links to articles as well as a calendar of international events in the Atlanta area. Or you can simply check our schedule which is usually up-to-date at least one week in advance.

Our attire is casual, as are our topics and the times listed above. Please feel free to drop in anytime.
